Cub Scout Pack 287 primarily serves neighborhoods in the Amberly Elementary School and 12th Street Elementary School area, although the pack also welcomes girls and boys from other schools and neighborhoods.

Membership is open to youth in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. The grade-level groups (Dens) meet 1st and 2nd Mondays of each month. The whole pack normally meets the 3rd Monday for special activities and awards. In addition, there is usually a special event or outing each month.
